Amsterdam Eats
A history in dishes
The exhibition Amsterdam Eats! takes you through 750 years of Amsterdam's food culture. Nine iconic dishes, from herring to nasi, show the influence food has had on the city of Amsterdam and its inhabitants. You'll discover where these dishes were eaten, who ate them, and how they contributed to the identity of the city.
Colorful spaces highlight the history of these delicious dishes with (historical) cookbooks and archaeological utensils. The design combines robust typography with hand-drawn illustrations that playfully reference the drawings found in the cookbooks.
