House of Intangible Cultural Heritage
In conjunction with the Dutch Open Air Museum, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Centre of Knowledge and various other cultural heritage organisations, we have created the House of Intangible Cultural Heritage, a new permanent venue where visitors can explore and experience intangible cultural heritage in a broad and interactive manner.
Using three thematic interactive cultural heritage cabinets with everyday objects, the exhibition takes you through different forms of intangible cultural heritage: strolling through the free market during King's Day, skating on natural ice and celebrating Eid-Al-Fitr. You see intangible cultural heritage come to live, so that in addition to learning what it is, you also see the significance attached to it and how it changes over time.
