‘84-'24. 40 years of Patronaat
Since 1984, Patronaat has grown into an iconic performance venue with a rich history of the world of pop music, including exceptional stories and personal memories of visitors, artists and employees. To celebrate its fortieth birthday, we are holding an anniversary exhibition ‘84-24 for the Noord-Holland Archive. 40 years of Patronaat: take a trip down memory lane, using images, sounds and archived material of everyone who was involved with Patronaat over the past 40 years.
The exhibition is divided into three time periods: From the modest early years in the gym to the great renovation of 2003, and from the temporary location in the Bike Factory to its current new building. Visitors are immersed in the rich history of Patronaat, with photographs, posters and audio accounts that bring the atmosphere of the pop venue back to life. Visitors are also invited to share their own personal memories, and in this way contribute to the keeping the archives alive.
